Mentorship and Outreach Programme to support the HEE/NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic (ICA) Programme for Non-Medical/Dental Healthcare Professionals

Background and Partners

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Health Education England (HEE) ICA Mentorship and Outreach Programme supports individuals who hold a HEE/NIHR doctoral or post-doctoral award within the Integrated Clinical Academic (ICA), Clinical Academic Training (CAT), and Healthcare Science Research Fellowship (HCS) Programmes who are following a clinical academic career and supports these health professionals to progress, nationally and internationally.

The scheme is designed to support the HEE/NIHR ICA Programme in developing a world-class research environment and culture across the non-medical professional groups in England by providing high quality mentorship to funded training fellows and an outreach programme which will foster a community of mentorship practice across England.

Our mentors are senior healthcare researchers and professional leaders with a range of experience nationally and internationally.  They bring essential and unique sector knowledge and understanding of the leadership challenges which face clinical academic researchers from the non-medical healthcare professions.
